Same Ol' S*** today, but it's still fun! No doves or bass today but we had a really nice sunset!

Tried my hand at some gunsmithing this morning, need to cut down an extracter plunger to get a factory part to fit into my Dad's pistol.

Another late afternoon / early evening fishing / hunting outing with Dad today.

I think I found a good strategy for hunting late afternoon doves; find out where they rooster overnight and wait in ambush in the shade with the sun to my back. I had four doves come right at me and was able to bag one of them.

After missing a few more birds, I took a quick fishing break but went right back to hunting until sundown. Dad ended up catching a medium sized bass which we had for dinner tonight.

Not a bad day, we each brought something home for dinner tonight.

Start of a new week

Late start fishing tonight.

 Decided to just hang out with Dad at the fishing pond instead of going Dove hunting; should have brought the shotgun ... saw a bunch of doves roosting all along the pond on the power lines. More doves than I saw the last time I went hunting.

Small Bass caught.

Did manage to catch a small bass a few minutes after I started fishing but decided it was way too small to keep. We fished until sundown, when it got too dark and there were too many mosquitoes buzzing in my ears.

While it may not have been the most productive day in the Delta for me, it wasn't a bad day.

It's been a really dry summer here in the Mississippi Delta.

Sunday Football

Caught the last half of the Washington Redskins upsetting the New Orleans Saints (who won all of their home games last year). RG2 looked really good in his rookie debut and it was the first time the Redskins scored over 40 points in a game in years.

Rory McIlroy wins BMW Championship

Watched the final few holes of the BWM Championship at Crooked Stick Golf Club on tv after the Redskin - Saints game.

Cloudy Saturday

Well, we finally got some relief from all the HOT weather that we've been getting here in the Delta, this will be great for the Saturday college football games as well as all the fishing, golfing, hunting and other outdoors activities too!

Dove Hunting

 A cool Saturday afternoon out on the farm, barely any doves flying around but it was still relaxing to spend a couple hours hunting while Dad was fishing. As usual, he caught fish and I blasted the air around the few doves that I happen to see. Still, it was a fun day.

Friday at last

Getting Cabin Fever!

After barely going out from the house all week due to the extreme heat here in the Delta, I was happy to make a quick run out to the farm this morning to get in alittle bit of hunting before the afternoon heat began ... it lasted about 10 minutes. Dad called me before I got geared up to come back to town to give him a ride to the dentist office (the battery in the other car died).

After dropping Dad off at the dentist, went to a couple stores to shop for golf and hunting supplies. Got some golf balls, a club brush, a hunting stool, and some groceries items before getting Dad's call to pick him up. After lunch and a short nap, Dad and I went out to the farm later this afternoon.

Hardly anything was flying this afternoon! Saw a few doves flying away from a distances and took a shot at one without any real chance of hitting it. Oh well, atleast Dad caught a nice bass for dinner tonight!
